Being in high school in the early 80's, just before discovering hardcore, I was convinced that Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden were the heaviest bands possible. Radio wouldn't lie, right? But then I took a chance on a record because I liked the cover. Kick Out The Jams. For a boy in puberty and thinking that the tightly conservative Rock radio was rebellion at its best, the MC5 immediately made me wonder what else I was being denied. The intro to "Borderline" was the closest I would ever get to spontaneous orgasm.
All of this is to say that The Letters Organize is a great band, and another in the long line of Kick Out..intensity. Make that INTENSITY. You get the feeling that this band is going to become unhinged at any moment, and thank God! Raging, brutal tracks like "Matador", "song of hope", and "I Want I Want" should already make this a cult classic. "Dressed Up in Gatwick" and "The Call It Rock N Roll (and other lies)" cement the deal. Easily obliterates the competition in the hardcore wars. The Letters Organize are not creating a new style, but are refining and giving an old one a huge kick in the ass. Brothers and Sisters, friends of the Revolution, get this record.
