Ah, Canadian hardcore. Could there be anything quite as pleasant? Hold on, rewind. Did I just say Canadian hardcore? Yup, Cursed is the next big thing in the hardcore world and they come to us from Hamilton, Ontario and are about to rip into the world of new hardcore. Rarely has Canada seen such a force in the loud rock world but these guys take the best from the likes of Converge and Dillinger Escape Plan and merge it with the sludgier feel of the Melvins or even Japan's Boris. Have a listen to slow, lumbering "Clocked In Punched Out" for the Melvins' comparison. But then Cursed gets all ballsy with the thunderous "Model Home Invasion". My favorite track on Two is "Head of the Baptist". It is a heavy track that doesn't leave any survivors. These guys are all over the loud rock/hardcore map on Two. This is one heavy album that deserves all the accolades it can get. It is carving out new territories in the metal world and I think a lot of people will be into their aggressiveness.
I have a feeling that a Cursed live show would be a sight to see as well. I'll be watching out for them.
