Early Day Miners are relief to sore ears. This time around the band introduces a couple of new members: Matt Griffin on drums and Jonathan Richardson on bass). All Harm Ends Here brings even more amazing and lush music to our stereos than their previous two Secretly Canadian releases. The vocal harmonies are beautiful and still remain somewhat dark on a few of the songs ("All Harm"). The have the softness of Low and yet the charm of Damien Jurado. Dan's voice is one that works well with the sound that Early Day Miners create. Also, the fact that they recorded in Old Mt. Gilead Church, just outside their hometown of Bloomington, Indiana. Early Day Miners are capable of creating moods that are hard to achieve with rock music. They make it seem so easy.
I really don't think that All Harm Ends Here is going to change the world, I do think that many people will fall in love with the subtleness of Dan Burton's songs. After one listen it gets a 3 star. After 5 listens it easily walks away with a 4. More listens may even bump that up further but I must move on.
