Robbers On Hight Street couldn't be a more appropriate name for this New York based band. And if I was Britt Daniel of Spoon fame I would be working on my law suit. Tree City sounds like Robbers beat Spoon to their new album. Now they say that theft is the highest form of flattery (I think) so Britt should be quite honored with how close Ben Trokan sounds like him. But I would venture to guess that he would also be a little ticked that a band would dare copy his beloved band so close. And to pull of a Spoon tribute album by playing your own original songs is quite a feat as well. So, in closing, if you like Spoon you will like Tree City, or be angry as hell that a band would dare come this close to Spoon without giving the artist credit. I know it's been done before but it still sucks. Yeah, Robbers On High Street prove themselves as good musicians as well as good thiefs.
