The former Domo Sound genius, now Dad making good drone after the kids are asleep is back with another winner. From his little corner of suburbia, he seems eternally present and hip to what is going on in pop, trance, drone, house. This is juicy stew of all those styles, with enough hooks to fill the top ten more often than 50 Cent in a perfect world.
Crafting-and that is the right word here; the songs have a layered, built feel to them-dreamlike tunes such as "20 Century Boy" Sleepy Memories", and staggeringly great "Wish I Could See You Film", Edwards also provides some of the tastiest guitar this side of mid-60's Kinks. Yet another highlight is the quiet, mostly acoustic "Another Number".
An early frontrunner in the "21st Century Brian Wilson" sweepstakes, The Original Mark Edwards is compelling and fun at the same time. rewind tomorrow ought to be heard on beaches everywhere this summer, again, in a perfect world.
