I don't know much about The Long Run and when I threw their name and album into Google I got too many results but none referring to the band. Anyway, I do know that Mockingbird records is a Calgary based label so I can only assume that The Long Run is from Calgary as well. They have got the male/female harmonies down pat and full of decent harmonies. The album starts out with the energetic "Dog Paddle" and then moves into one of the better songs on the album "Time Of Year". It has a cool riff running throughout it. The vocals could have been a little more diverse on this song but I found it to be addictive. There is nothing really unique about The Long Run. Instead, the band opts for just having fun and making fun music. My biggest beef with All Afternoon is the shitty production job. The band has the harmonies but they need to be backed up with some decent production. I'm sure it was a budget thing but in the end it decreases the value of the album.
