Taken is a hardcore style band that has been around for a few years but have pretty much gone unnoticed. The band has already released a full-length album entitled And They Slept and have pretty much toured all over North America. Between Two Unseens is my first exposure to Taken and it has proven to be impressive. These guys do the best mix between melodic and heavy that I have heard in a long time. The Orange County band really takes the hardcore thing to a new level. I have heard though that since the release of this EP that the band has indeed broken up. It's too bad because songs like the opener "Arrested Impulse" really grab you and show some promise. Ray Harkins is an amazing hardcore vocalist that basically sum up what emo should have been. All five songs on this release are top notch and sadly they are probably the last we will hear from Taken.
