Offer yourself to The Concretes, as they will kindly pull you into a warm, weightless state of security. Light sounds, not issues, float, with a considerably large variety of instruments that cloud into a whisper.

Though The Concretes are quite large when all the "Honorary Concretes" are factored in, there are officially eight "core" members. I can only imagine how impressive their decision making system must be to pleasantly accommodate and please the whole octet. The front woman, Victoria Bergsman, sings with a sweet, calm voice coated with an endearing Swedish accent, while The Concretes emit an old sound that could be compared to bands such as The Velvet Underground.

"Warm Night" cradles you with a waltz melody, while large harmonies, girl's sighs and a string arrangement will have you at your knees.

Upon your first listen, this album may not strike you as anything special, but if given time, it subtly starts to grow into an album that deserves attention. The Concretes have a sound that is very derivative, but sometimes, taking a step backwards in the music world isn't all that bad.
