This album may be entitled A Dub Transmission but don’t come into this album thinking that you are going to get a Lee “Scratch Perry styled album. What Jah Wobble and Bill Laswell have created here is a very unique piece of work that deserves to stand out. As most of Laswell’s material Radioaxiom has a very dark and ominous feeling to it. Most of the material is written in minor keys making it sound spooky with the dub feeling here. The whole point of this album is to screw with your mind a little. There are world beat influences at play here with Karsh Kale and Gigi contributing. You also have the Laswell regulars such as Nicky Skopelitis and Sly Dunbar. You can tell that a lot of thought went into the layering of music. The songs aren’t short but they manage to shy away from boring. This is great latenight lounge music that you can easily chill out too.
