Kutmasta Kurt has been getting press over the original title of this album but I'm not going to get into that one here. Redneck Games is a mix album of sorts and even on the first track, The Beastie Boys' "Body Movin" you know you are in for some pretty cool remixing. There are some pretty hot artists included here such as Dilated Peoples, Mos Def, Linkin Park (I'll get to this one later), Mr. Lif, Planet Asia, Rasco, newcomers 7L & Esoteric, Kool Keith, Blackalicious and a ton of others. These are pretty much all tracks that KutMasta Kurt has worked on in the past. His resume ends up pretty impressive after listening to Redneck Games. Let's get into the Linkin Park track here. KutMasta Kurt takes on "In The End" and does a killer job of reworking it. It pretty much sounds like a completely different song. He has done a nice job with it. The album really has a lot of good things going for it. I have heard of Planet Asia but never heard them. The track here, "Golden Age" is hot enough to warrant looking for one of their albums. The Kool Keith track, "I Don't Believe U" is one of the better KK tracks I've heard too. Another artist I haven't heard before, Motion Man, shows up twice on Redneck Games and shows that he has some awesome lyrical talent. 7L & Esoteric's "Rest In Peace" is a hot track too. I think I would have to say that my favorite track here is the Del and Mr. Lif track called "360 Degrees". It's got a thick beat and a little bit of old school style going on. There is more than a few good tracks on Redneck Games, showing us that KutMasta Kurt may have been previously overlooked but hopefully this album should bring him into the spotlight.
