Jedi Mind Tricks has been bubbling under for almost a decade now without getting recognition that they deserve. Legacy of Blood is the new chapter of the Jedi Mind Trick camp and while not groundbreaking, this album is one of the better hip hop albums to come out this year. It's a hard hitting one, kicking off with "The Age of the Sacred Terror", a song that doesn't hold any punches. "Saviourself" is a clever track that incorporates some Latin flavor in with some heavy rhymes with Killah Priest. It's not the only one with the Latin touch to the samples. While there are Wu-Tang members throughout the album, they come across as heavy hitters just like WT. The only issue I have with Jedi Mind Tricks is the heavy gay-bashing that partakes. I believe in freedom of speech but when doe it become slander? Vinnie Paz is homophobic and not afraid to let the world know. Jedi Mind Tricks is a group that needs to get a little more recognition but also need to tone down their anti-homosexual lyrics. There are so many other things to focus your anger at. Legacy of Blood is a great album, hard hitting but still accessible for the most part.
