I was told that Calgary's Tegan and Sara have turned a little more pop but I don't think I was ready for this. Just to prime myself for this review I revisited This Business Of Art. With So Jealous now playing I have a hard time thinking that these are the same sisters that gave us that aforementioned album. Holy crap! Talk about a change. Bye bye Ani Difranco, hello Donnas! The tracks on So Jealous are pure pop. They have joined the power-pop revolution and have created an album of damn catchy material. "I know I know I know" is one of the gentlest approaches here but you can really hear the vocal harmonizing going on here. Listen to the chunky guitars of "I Won't Be Left" and the harmonies to fully understand the potential of Tegan and Sara. I have a feeling that a lot of people are under the same impression as I was about these sisters being just another folk group. They just need to get some exposure with this music. It's super catchy to the point of instantaneous like-ability. I know I missed If It Was You as a stepping stone but I think that's what makes So Jealous so friggin amazing. Don't miss out on Tegan and Sara's So Jealous.
