WARNING! I'm going to try one of those crazy x+y*n2=band equations. If The Clash and New Order were at a party together at Black Flags house and went up to the bedroom to make out, !!! (for those not in the know, this is pronounced a couple ways: Bang Bang Bang, Chk Chk Chk, or other combinations, not the presumptuous question mark x 3) would be the result 9 months later. Louden Up Now is the band's second album but it was their single, Me and Guiliani Down By The Schoolyard, that got everyone talking. Nic Offer is the vocalist and he has a knack for making this style of music, let's call it dance punk, not sound like a joke, which it could have easily ended up. You might have heard the name Nic Offer when his other band was being talked about, Outhud. Their debut album was fairly well received but many people didn't hear about the band until the Guiliani single. With the reputation of Touch and Go behind them now, there is no stopping this infectious style of music. Rhythm is the key to the success of Louden Up Now. The funky tracks are laid down and then everything else is layered on top. Of course the Giuliani track is on here and it is in its entire 9 minute form. But the best track has to be "Hello? Is This Thing On?". The track has more hooks than a slaughter house. But there really isn't any bad tracks on the album. !!! manage to prove that this genre is a serious thing and bringing punks onto the dancefloor to do something other than slamdance.
