Remember the simplicity and romanticism of Crowded House? And do you remember who the songwriters were? Yeah, Tim and Neil Finn. And after ten years since their last "duo" album they are about to release their follow-up. Both Tim and Neil have released a couple of fairly decent solo albums but you can't help but notice that they feel most comfortable when they are writing/playing together. Everyone Is Here marks the first actual collaboration for the Finn Brothers and you can hear the skill and joy in their songwriting. To be expected, this album is very AOR. It is mellow but also memorable. The album kicks off with "Won't Give In", a very accessible song that really gives us the overall feel for what's to come. The get damn funky on "Homesick", one of those tracks that make you want to pick up your guitar and learn it. There are a lot of slower tempo songs but that's what Neil and Tim do best. There are also a few fairly upbeat tracks that make this a dynamic listen. I would argue that any Crowded House fan would totally dig Everyone Is Here. The Finn Brothers have a real accomplishment here.
