The Warmers was a oft-overlooked post-hardcore band from the mid-90s and featured three talents, Alec MacKaye, Juan Luis Carrera and Amy Farina. You may recognize the first name. Alec is indeed related to Ian, the founder of Dischord records. Alec is Ian's brother. Luckily enough, Ian and Dischord have decided to release these demos as a cohesive EP. Listening to tracks on this EP, you start to realize how much influence the DC area sound has had on modern day rock. The Warmers were a band that had a lot of potential but imploded before they had time to make the splash they were bound to make. That leaves us with a great album and a great EP to relish in their glory. It's not a fabulous EP but one that captures a band's output that could have been so much more. You may also remember Alec MacKay from the bands Faith and Ignition. Note: This album was originally recorded in 1996.
