You have to give the Misfits credit, they made some catchy punk/hardcore music when it was probably uncool to do such a thing. I'm talking about the classic group, not the one that was resurrected by Jerry Only and is still touring to this day. No, it was probably one of the best things that the cocky Glenn Danzig ever did. This album is an essential for any rock/punk collection. The hardcore fans probably have the coffin box-set which is a review in itself. The Misfits got a renewed interest when bands like Metallica and Guns N Roses covered them. While you don't really have that many albums to get if you want to get the actual albums, this single compilation grabs all the best tracks and puts them all in one place. They've done a great job in the sequencing and even though the production still sounds like crap (one of the joys of the Misfits), it is the best bang for your buck. The compilation kicks off with "She", one of my favorite tracks with it's catchy chorus and Glenn singing at his finest. "Hollywood Babylon" it the band in their rockabilly state. Another classic is "Teenagers From Mars", one that sounds so muddy but catchy just the same. Tracks like "Astro Zombies", if cleaned up and sung by Pat Boone, could've been a big hit. This was how much pop they injected in a lot of their songs. But remember "Mommy, Can I Go Out And Kill Tonight"? That was pure punk at it's finest. Or the classic "Die, Die My Darling" and "Green Hell" made famous my Metallica. My favorite album was Earth A.D. but I can give that up in favor of this compilation. Sure, Danzig would go on to form Samhain and then later Danzig but nothing sticks in your gut like a good dose of the Misfits. Punk and metal never really has been the same.

but if Glenn's lyrics were cleaned up...he wouldn't have one of his nicknames: "EvilElvis" LOL
I loved this complilation,too...it was my intro to the original Misfits...two of my favorites on this CD are "Skulls" and "Hollywood Babylon".
