Division Of Laura Lee captured a lot of rock fan's hearts with their Black City album, an album full of mature rock/punk coming our way from Scandinavia. The group has had the tough job of following up a successful album to attempt to gain even more fans. Das Not Compute pretty much does the trick delivering the good, starting with the rocking "Does Compute". But when they hit on "Endless Factories" they are going full tilt. The thing is that it is a very accessible track that, in a perfect world, would find its way onto the radio for a feel-good summer hit. As it is, we're stuck with fucking Nickelback. As it is, first listen I wasn't overly impressed with this album. Second listen I found a few things I liked. Third listen I was completely in love with Das Compute. It's a thick album that takes them a little further away than what they were sounding like on Black City. Division of Laura Lee should be the next big thing from the Nordic countries. Have a listen to the grating "Dirty Love" that features The Cardigans' Nina Persson and you won't be doubting me. On a couple tracks such as the album closer "There's A Last Time For Everything", they are sounding more and more like Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. A far cry from their earlier sounds that were closer to Fugazi.
