Cerberus - The hound of hades. Shoal - Sandbank or bar creating a shallow. Throw them together and you have a messed up group that puts out some crazy music. This effort, Bastion of Itchy Preeves, was actually recorded before their last full length, Chaiming the Knoblessone. The recording of this album started back in 2001 but didn't get finished until spring 2003. Some of the tracks on here are totally accessible while others really leave you out to dry. For instance, the track "Nonex" really goes nowhere. It sounds as if some musicians were bored and decided to sit down and just make some noise. Not so bad but 10 minutes worth? Then they redeem themselves by providing a track called "Marimus" that has everything essential for a jerky indie rock song. Really, you don't have to look further than the opening "Grandsire" for evidence of what is to come. It's basically a percussion song with little else going on. It seems like most songs are experiments in noise and music. This album is for people who like eclectic rock music. There isn't much here for anyone else.
