I had absolutely no expectations walking into this bland covered album. In their bio they state that Lansing-Dreiden is a company whose purpose is to propose projects for products produced by its proponents that will further propel us and our clients through the path. Are you scratching your head? I was. They seemed like some sort of art-types that decided to start making music as well as paintings and other art-forms. The album starts out with the immediate "Metal On A Gun"; quite an upbeat track that reminds me a little bit of what Interpol is doing. Could "I.C.U." be any more like New Order? I feel like riding into the sunset with the galloping pace of "The Advancing Flags". Then it's space rock with "I Keep Everything". This album is quite enjoyable even though it may not be totally relevant in today's music scene. Sometimes I find Lansing-Dreiden very compelling and others it just seems like I have heard it all before. It's a tough album even if it is very creative. Retro with modern overtones.
