You may know Andre Ethier from his day job in The Hot Snakes, one of Canada's hardest rocking indie bands. Now it's time for Andre to shed the cables and Marshall stacks in favor of acoustic instruments and one of the best Bob Dylan records that has ever been made. It would probably be considered folk-rock ala 1960. Now a lot of you may say that you would rather just go pick up an old Bob Dylan album than listen to Ethier relive an era but I suggest that you listen up to this album. This is apparent on the first track that you delve into, "Let Me Put My Suitcase Down". It really sets the pace for the album. It kind of has a Rolling Stones Exile on Mainstreet swagger to it. Ethier opts for a bit of a lo-fi recording technique and it works well. Pet Hudson is the man in charge of the recording process. Ethier states that Pickles and Price were added just before the recording sessions to give the album a fresh and unrehearsed feel. He succeeds here as well. Chris Sandes piano work is a great addition as well. I think the best thing about this album is that all the songs were actually penned by Ethier, proving that he is an amazing songwriter.
