Xian Hawkins (Sybarite) has really made a name for himself. Sybarite is basically a one man affair that wowed people with his 2000 release musicforafilm. With all the excitement surrounding that album Xian found himself with offers from a majority of other labels and finally decided on 4AD. What Sybarite and Temporary Residence has done in the meantime is pulled together all the singles that he has done in the past and entitled it Placement Issues. You may think that a singles collection ends up being a bit disjointed at times but not so with Placement Issues. A lot of thought has gone into the track placement and the result it a very cohesive piece of work that sounds as if it should have been this way from the start. Be on the lookout for his debut on 4AD that should surface sometime soon. In the meantime, enjoy Placement Issues. Sybarite creates the perfect music for the future.
