This was a band and a sadly overlooked album that I just never got around to review until now. Coming out of a short-lived retirement, the band sounds just as strong as ever. After 1998's Seraphim Fall the group decided to call it quits but then other hardcore bands started citing the band as a big influence. I didn't know about the band but after hearing Three Humid Nights in the Cypress Trees I can understand their influence on up-and-coming hardcore groups. Steve Albini take up the production (or recording as he prefers) challenge and makes this possible mess of chaos into something that people will look at as an essential Bloodlet album. Scott Angelacos is an amazingly diverse metal vocalist and handles this style of music with ease. He does the switch-up from singing to growling to screaming. The rips through 12 tracks in 41 minutes and it's not a moment too long or too short. The dynamics that I hear with Bloodlet really prove to me that they were indeed a very big influence. Any fans of hardcore must seek out this album and play it loud.
