This new group from Boulder Colorado is amazing. Tintin makes music that is mostly instrumental but they do manage some very interesting vocal songs. There are very many similarities between Tintin and the Scottish group Mogwai, the way that music is almost liquid as it ebbs and flows in and out of your consciousness. Another similarity is the rather lengthy songs ranging from 5 minutes to almost the 10 minute mark. Many people get scared at the sight of a 10 minute song but when it is as compelling as Tintin's music you can't help but enjoy every minute. The sound that they manage with only three people is big. The production is amazing and is provided by the clever Keith Cleversly. He has worked with some of the finest and cutting edge bands like Hum, Mercury Rev and Spiritualized. I'm sure that he must have heard something in Tin Tin that got him wanting to work with them. It has totally paid off.
