Oxia - 24 Heures
In the past Oxia and their partners in crime, The Hacker haven't really impressed me all that much. That is until now. 24 Heures is a treat to listen to. It's a bit retro in the electro-clash sense but this album is done so well that all those retro references will easily fall to the wayside. Oxia is basically the project of Olivier Raymond and along with this project, Olivier has started the Goodlife label with his friend, The Hacker. 24 Heures is the proper debut full-length album for Oxia and it's a cracker. The strange thing about this album is that it could have been released in 1990s or it could be the future of electronic music. Can't quite figure it out. The production on it is perfect. Nothing there to annoy. French techno at its finest. I wouldn't be at all surprised to hear a few of these tracks in some commercials in the near future. One with a cool new red car of some sort, driving fast, through tiny European streets.
