This is the way new school punk ought to be done. Burns Out Bright is an up and coming act from Columbia, South Carolina featuring four youthful musicians that want to spread their music worldwide. Burns Out Bright come out of the gate with "Crowded Streets, Empty Skies". It starts off really aggressive and then drops down for the verse and starts picking up steam again as it builds up to the chorus. It's the best track on the EP. And these kids aren't afraid to wear their heart on their sleeves but I'm sure they will get lumped into the "emo" category because of the beautiful "Twenty-Two". They pretty much rock out on the last track, "Prodigal", too. "Something I Can Steal" has some pretty chunky guitars in it and yet it still remains very accessible. Yeah, these guys will end up in the emo bin at the record store but make sure that they end up on top. They have heart and that's what the genre needs.
