There is a new Orange County. One of chaos and torment. Well, in the musical sense anyway. The newest metal/hardcore band to emerge from the Southern California area is Scars of Tomorrow. They aren't all that new either. They have put out a couple of albums on the tiny Thorp label and then they were discovered by the powerhouse known as Victory records. This is where Rope Tied To The Trigger fits in. They are a powerful hardcore band that really ranks with some of the best out there. They never release their grip on your ears and to tell you the truth, you never really want them to. The loud grinding that they start out with on "To Watch You Burn" really doesn't let up throughout the entire album. Sometimes, with this type of music I can only stand maybe half an album at a time. Scars of Tomorrow have managed to reach out and pull me in, for the entire ride. It doesn't have the sing songy parts like a Thursday or Thrice. All the songs on Rope Tied are stellar and impressive and totally guttural. If you have lost your faith in hardcore, you need to go out and find Scars of Tomorrow. It kicks ass!
