Although never putting out an album until 2000 the duo known as the Plump DJ’s have been quite influential in the whole electronica arena. The two guys that make up this group, Andy Gardner and Lee Rous, have found their music in the mixes of many famous DJ’s. It was time to collect all the contributions that they had given the culture and put out a single CD. So while they may have been around for a while, A Plump Night Out catches the uninitiated There are a few other favorites of theirs thrown on to keep it real but for the most part, this is all their own creations. This is big beat at it’s finest and it really makes you realize that when you look at artists like Fatboy Slim and others that they needed idols to look up to. That’s where Rous and Gardner fit in. This is the real deal and it will impress the big beat/2 step fans out there. It may be long overdue and they would have found a much bigger following if they released this album 5 years earlier but circumstances arise and you have to do what you do. Check this out and find out what funky electronica is all about.
