Not a place you think of whenever "Punk" is brought up but Edmonton has it's share of punk rock. One of the newer candidates in the punk field is a band called The Wednesday Night Heroes and they have just unleashed a cool slab of old-school punk called Superiority Complex on Longshot Records. This is actually their second record out but they have come a long way since their debut. Their last album was received well and licensed in Europe by a German punk label. Their raw talent rivals that of the Dropkick Murphys and other similar bands. Song titles ring out familiar anarchist type themes like "Music For The People", "Breakdown The Walls", and "We Want The Truth". The boys throw in enough melody to make their music damn catchy, even if it's at breakneck speeds for most of the time. It's not super original but The Wednesday Night Heroes have enough balls to overcome that fact. It's one of those cool, fast and furious punk records that's done in under half an hour. Mix it up and get into it!
