What can be said about this Scottish rock band that hasn't already been said? "The best band in the world" -Kurt Cobain "The second-best band in the world" -Liam Gallagher If, for some reason unapparent, you have failed to hear about this amazing band over the last 13 years then this compilation should do exactly what it says. It will catch you up on all their singles and awesome songs they have released over their career. A Shortcut to Teenage Fanclub does a flawless job at gathering up singles and more and present them in such a perfect order that few could argue about the track listing. Sure, a few songs may have been left off but for the most part, this is the best 4766 seconds that any fan could have picked. There are quite a few from the underrated Songs From Northern England, one of the best albums to ever come out of Scotland. The way this band throws melodies off of each other is better than anything since the Byrds. It helps that everyone in the band contributes to the songwriting process. Listening to A Shortcut is like reliving Teenage Fanclub all the way back to their Bandwagonesque days. To top things off, you get 3 brand spanking new tunes that hold up with the rest of their catalog. This is not only a must have for Fanclub fans but for any alternative music collector.
