Three of cool indie label Deep Elm's veteran bands have come together to participate in a three way split EP. I have a place in my heart for all three of these bands so I was pretty excited to see them share in this project. First up on the EP was the single contribution from Brandston. Brandston is a band that has no problem mixing melody with punk rock attitude. "Dead Animals" is no exception and a strong way to open the album. It would have fit nicely on their Death and Taxes EP out earlier this year. Camber is the bulk contributor here with three songs. The first is a track called "Dealt", a strong and not too aggressive for Camber. "I Could Not Care Less" is along the same vein. Camber share a lot in common with Jawbreaker. And for their final track, they choose an acoustic song called "Goodbye Mr. Spalding". A nice change of tempo for Camber. The final two tracks are from Seven Storey, the first called "New Day". It is not as heavy as some of their previous material but man is it catchy. "Covers" ends off the album and it is probably the heaviest contribution. Seven Storey have a lot going for them and these two tracks prove the diversity that they have. This three way split is a great introduction to these three bands and a nice addition to anyone's collection.
