Praful makes a nice mellow grooves that could easily be considered chill out music. Praful is a single named German that went to Amsterdam to dive into the international music scene that was going on there in 1987. He studied at the The School of Arts there and followed that up with trips around the world, learning about Latin, Brazilian, African and Indian music. His album One Day Deep will sit beside those of the Thievery Corporation and many of the Six Degrees label releases. The music is primarily instrumental but if there are vocals thrown in, they are of an international flavor. There is plenty of live instrumentation that gives One Day Deep a very warm feeling. You might remember Praful's previous band, Project 2000, well his solo stuff is a little more along the down tempo sounds but easily incorporates many elements of jazz into the mix. Praful makes good music, it's just that this has been done before by so many people. If Six Degrees records reads this review, Praful would be a nice fit into their world electronica fusion mix that they have been doing so well lately.
