The Feenom Circle is a new hip hop act coming at ya from the Bay Area in California. The group consists of three members, Tope One, RawJ and Side B. Souled Separately is a step in the right direction, moving away from the negative attitude that a lot of mainstream rap has. Feenom Circle has been together and blasting locals for the last six years and it now that they are making their move to be recognized. The urban style that the group possesses rivals that of J-Live and Soul Purpose. They use a similar, low key attack instead of ramming their lyrics down your throat. It is a welcome addition to the hip hop world. The backing samples are quite minimalistic with the focus being on the artist's voice. The guys have a jazz overtone to many of the tracks but it is held down with the occasional bubble over. Their style also has something in common with the Hieroglyphics stuff. While the group probably won't see mainstream success with Souled Separately, they will gain some street credibility. They guys play off of each other like real pros. I would watch of for The Feenom Circle hitting your town and check them out. I don't think you will be disappointed.
