Good Riddance has been pumping out quality punk music for over a decade now and show no signs of slowing down. Their new offering, Bound By Ties of Blood and Affection, shows the band still with their heart full into the punk side of things. They don't even consider adding the pop element into their already finely honed music. Russ Rankin has one of the best punk voices in the whole genre and he really makes Bound By Ties his best offering to date. They seem to have got all their fluff out on their Cover Ups album and get down to business. Good Riddance fires through 14 songs in under 30 minutes, leaving the listeners head spinning to their political infused punk songs. I would say that Good Riddance border on hardcore but a wee bit too accessible to be fully accepted into these waters. Guitars ring with melodies even though Russ is raving about some political issue or another. One of my favorite lines is "Media lies disguised as the truth" from the song "Up The Affiliates". The infamous Bill Stevenson has taken production duties into his own hands and has done a fine job. Good Riddance won't die easy, and that's a good thing. Follow the advice on "Shame, Rights and Privilege" and you won't die easy either.
