S.t.u.n. - Evolution of Energy
S.T.U.N. - Scream Toward the Uprising of Nonconformity - is a band from Los Angeles that is trying to get noticed in the hard rock/metal scene. They originally had a deal with Warner Music but somehow it fell through. Geffen decided to pick up the pieces and release Evolution of Energy. Upon first listen, all I could think of was the 90s band Warrior Soul but not as good. Vocalist Christiane J is an able singer but the band needs some more original material. Have a listen to "We Will Come To You" and you can't help but think of David Bowie a little. The band is tight and the musicianship is there but I think this is simply the case of a band getting signed to early. They haven't found where they fit in yet. One of the better songs on Evolution of Energy is their cover of Wire's "Reuters". It's a thick song that has a bit of a glam feel to it. They need to calm down the political statements and concentrate on the music. I wouldn't write S.T.U.N. off quite yet. Give them an album or two and then check in again. Geffen should have held off from signing them until they released this album.
