Ugly Duckling is about to make it's glorious return after the demise of their last label 1500 Records. This time around they craft a theme album on the fast-food restaurant that all three members of Ugly Duckling supposedly worked at. An interesting concoction from a restaurant called Meat Shake, everything had meat in it, even the milk shakes. I almost want to puke just thinking about it. Anyway, it makes for some pretty hilarious skits on Taste The Secret. I found that Ugly Duckling is very consistent since I first discovered them. Taste The Secret takes nothing seriously, which is quite nice coming from a hip-hop group. It's a nice light-hearted dive into some really funky rap beats and some goofy lyrics. Gansta Rap fans need to walk away slowly. Anyone who likes any of the projects of Prince Paul would be advised to check out Ugly Duckling and try a turkey jerky or pork shake. Vegetarians need not apply. Taste the Secret is not an essential album but it is pretty damn funny.
