Plastic Bag is a new band out of the Toronto area that is set to rock the country on its ass. Seriously, Chemical has some riffs larger than the CN tower and they still manage to get the hooks in there as well. Plastic Bag is not an immediately enjoyable band but as soon as the second listen you start to see the charm that these seasoned musicians possess. Try a resume on for size like this one: Dylan Parker from Lowest Of The Low, Mitch Cruickshank of Shortfall and Cam Bull of Starkicker and By Divine Right. Not bad. Band leader, Eric Bridenbaker has written some very interesting and crafty songs that should get Plastic Bag some attention that they deserve. Chemical is their debut album, following their self-titled EP release in 2000, and it is bound to get some hard rock attention. The riffs are thick and juicy and there are plenty of melodic hooks that will keep listeners in touch with where they are going. It sounds like a lot of the bands that were on Man's Ruin but not quite as sludgy. Clean up Atomic Bitchwax a bit and you have the Plastic Bag sound. This music needs to be blasted out of your speakers so turn this mother up. I'm grooving to this album.
