DJ Tiesto is indeed one of the most sought after Trance DJ's of our time. He seems to have mastered the art of getting any audience whipped into a frenzy with his hypnotic tracks. Nyana is Tiesto's attempt at mixing a little more world beat flavors into his Trance set. He headed down to South Africa in early 2003 to soak up some other cultures and Nyana is the result. He has mostly positive results on tracks like "Acapulco" by The Ambush and "Inca" by Midway possess a minor bit of world music intricacies. It's almost like trance music doesn't fare well outside of the raves and clubs. I think you have to be in the right frame of mind and I always find that Tiesto and others do provide a great work environment throughout the day. It's the non-vocalist beats that keep you plugging away. Especially me with a computer job, sitting in front of radiation all day. The title track on this CD, a Tiesto penned composition, is one of the highlights on the disc. I look forward to the next all Tiesto album. Nyana is the next logical step for trance and Tiesto is the man that will take us there. The changes are big but when you listen to a whole set you start to undertand Tiesto's thinking and the way he manages to build his sets up even when you think there is nowhere else to go. Nyana is a great album that will please fans.
