Can I just start by asking how anyone in their right mind can think that Fun9 can come out sounding like "funk" as is suggested? That off my shoulders I can unbiasely review this great album. The established Takako Minekawa has outdone herself this time with her airy vocals and sugar electro pop. This as pleasant as any of the Asian pop albums that have surfaced on our shores. She enlists fellow label mates Dj Me Dj You to help her out on a few tracks. One gem that I just can't help but think that Takako borrowed a little more than an idea from is "Fantastic Voyage". She borrows the exact "do do do" as can be heard on Lou Reed's "Walk on the Wild Side". Her voice is really mezmerizing though.
