RecommendBlue Epic is a new band from Birmingham, Alabama. Love & Hate is their first foray into the world of the recording studio. The band sounds more like it should be from Birmingham, England rather than Alabama with their lush and enigmatic sound. They are a young foursome that focuses on melody first and foremost. They teamed up with Chad Blinman (Get Up Kids, Face To Face) in order to get this EP done properly. Blue Epic does sound a bit like the Brit Pop style of Catherine Wheel or even Coldplay at some points like in "Roses", a very dynamic track showing off the vocal talents of the lead singer. They've included a cool cover of Neil Young's "A Man Needs A Maid" that the band easily makes their own. I will look forward to a full-length debut from Blue Epic in the next year or so.
