Jeff Laine is a Detroit born musician relocated to Los Angeles with a friend who went on to form the Knack. His time was spent in various bands and he came out with a discovery that he needed to write his own heartfelt music. So the title Long Way To Here seems appropriate for the trials and tribulations that Jeff Laine has experienced. The music that he wrote for this album is very personal with even a track called "Son" for his recently born Maximilian. His sound is a little country and a little dirty rock and roll. It's a hard one to pin down but there are a few really great tracks on here that shouldn't be missed. The bluesy "Jack Me Up" is one of these tracks. The song is dark and Jeff's voice sounds the best on these deep tracks.
