The Twin Atlas is a perfect example of why not to judge a book by its cover. The cover is not a very inspired piece art with cut and paste text pieces on it. The end result is an unappealing package. It's really unfortunate because The Twin Atlas has one of the best mellow indie rock sounds I have heard this year. Apparently this is the bands third full-length album. The band consists of Sean Byrne and Luke Zaleski. The former plays drums with the likes of Lenola, Mazarin, and Matt Pond PA in his down time. Now with Bring Along The Weather we have a band entering this reviewer's awareness completely unbiased (except for the bad artwork on the liner) and shining like the brightest star. It has been a while since I have been as instantly taken with a band like this. The charm in The Twin Atlas is the awesome vocal harmonies. Nothing extremely different but they hit on your heartstrings with every note. The Twin Atlas is a Simon and Garfunkel for the new Millennium. The music ends up quite orchestral but there are folk elements that creep in. I even hear a mandolin on a couple of tracks. The production is not lacking anything either. The focus is the vocals but the songs are different enough to keep you listening to the entire album and hitting play again once you have reached the end.
