Sounds Eclectic Too is the cleverly named follow up to KCRW’s Sounds Eclectic compilation. This time around host Nic Harcourt has brought on the obligatory Palm artists Cousteau and Zero 7 as well as a nice selection of other eclectic artists like Coldplay (a piano version of “Yellow), Air (the most upbeat track on the album “Radio #1), R.E.M. (a great track called “I’ve Been High), a great Hispanic artist Julieta Venegas (“Cas Abandonada), Startsailor (“Fever), Nick Cave (“Into My Arms) and Shelby Lynne (a fantastic track called “Jesus on a Greyhound) as well as a few others. The nice thing with these compilations is getting artists away from the studio and performing live in a radio station. It’s amazing that with no overdubs and remixes just how great these tracks sound. They are almost without glitch proving that these artists are very apt. All profits from Sound Eclectic Too will benefit KCRW and be directed towards music programming of the non-profit radio station.
