I know what you saying, another freaking Deep Elm compilition. Before you turn away in disgust let me let you in on what Deep Elm is all about. You know the Emo Diaries that come out every couple months? Those are mostly unsigned acts that send their music in to hopefully end up on one of these compliations. Sound Spirit Fury Fire is a different in the sense that it actually is a compilation of music to come out on Deep Elm in the last little while. Understand? If you haven’t bought a Deep Elm release in quite some time then you are in luck. They have been putting out above average to superbly moving music lately that would put most major labels to shame. Yes, their artists are that good. The label takes itself seriously and is totally interested in promoting killer bands that would normally just get the cold should at the majors. Take for instance the latest album from Last Days of April (from which “Will the violins be playing? comes from). Or David Singer’s mind numbingly good Cost of Living (“Madonna Complex and “The Cost of Living are provided here for your listening pleasure). Call Deep Elm emo or call the post punk. Whatever you decide to call their music, Deep Elm has been going hard since 1996 and there is no sign of the label slowing down.
