If you have somehow made it this far keeping on top of independent rock music and haven’t come across the name Badly Drawn Boy then you somehow haven’t dug in far enough. There was much hype over his debut and his new label that he created with Andy Votel, Twisted Nerve. This album with the clumsy title is basically a label sampler for this eclectic Manchester-based label. You will find exclusive as well as previously released tracks from Badly Drawn Boy, Andy Votel, DOT, Alfie, as well as a few others. Twisted Nerve is a label that ends up with a consistent sound throughout the catalog. This is a good thing for labels starting out because it allows fans to know that the material is similar between the artists. Of course having an artist like Badly Drawn Boy on your label can’t hurt any of his labelmates. The overtone of Twisted Nerve is a laid back sound that is good for solo listening. It’s surprising that a label this eclectic has already worked out more than 30 releases. Find out what all the fuss is with the crazy messed up label that goes by the name of Twisted Nerve.
