Livehuman - Elefish Jellyphant
Livehuman is a bit of an anomaly. The reason I say this is that is basically a DJ collective with only one DJ. The rest of the group is filled out by an actual drummer and a physical bass player. A three piece band in essence. The group hits on some heavy jams and gets you grooving with almost every song. They have been doing their thing for almost 5 years now and this is their first release for Matador Records. It's intriguing that the Livehuman can sample so much and yet most of the samples are hardly recognizable. DJ Quest must be one of the samplers who make their own rules and don't copy much of anyone elses material. These guys are different enough to make a statement.
