The 90's has proven to be one of the most over inflated decades. What began as a decade that seemed as though the meek would inherit the charts, (and they did for a short while) it ended in commercial pap being driven into our skulls that sounded dated before it was released. Rock bands have been phased out in mainstream America due to the lack of intelligence of most record companies and so by 1999 we find ourselves in the same place we were in 10 years ago with manufactured pop and corporate metal bands dominating the charts and consciousness of most people, so much for progression. So, after having gone past the point of no return the only place to go was back, way back, and so let me introduce you to The White Stripes. They are not your average rock band band in any way shape or form. They are Jack White (guitar and vocals) and Meg White(drums) and that. They are a dynamic brother and sister duo from Detroit, (ya know the home of Funhkadelic, MC5, the Stooges, and most recently Eminem) They make enough noise to get the neighbours complaining. They mix Funkadelic type delta blues with John Spencer heaviness with a bit of early Sabbath and the lo-fi-ness of Sebadoh. They have the ability to write a catchy tune and are lyrically reminiscent of early stones. The Big Three Killed My Baby, Suzy Lee, Astro, and Do are just a few of the albums highlights while covers including Stop Breaking Down from Robert Johnson and One More Cup Of Coffee by Bob Dylan show that Jack knows exactly where he is coming from and if this any indication of what we can except to hear from them, then it looks as though there is some life left in music after all.

it has some good sounds to it. it does feel like its something thats been done before, but SOMETIMES thats a good in my book if it feels refreshed a bit. like it has a better beat to it or the singers voice goes well. to me, in my opinion, if the voice sucks....so does the song. but it doesn't on this one, the white stripes entertains me enough to were i'll still listen to it a few times now and again....but not too often, it gets dull after a while.
