Tricky Woo throws you for a bit of a loop on the beginning of Les Sables Magiques. They start out with an acoustic guitar and a viola on “Ring Sweet Mercy and once you sit up and take notice, they kick in with a riff not unlike Bad Company’s “Feel Like Making Love. Even then Tricky Woo may have lightened up a bit they stick it to the groove more than your mama at a local barn dance. Tricky Woo takes you on a retro groove journey that stops off at a place not unlike Woodstock and shows you what rock music used to be all about. Not all this polished radio crap you hear today, but the raw intensity of a proper jam session. Tricky Woo are great musicians and although they seem to have mellowed out a bit you will still be able to relate to what they are trying to say. Les Sables Magiques should get them rave reviews once again. Go see their live show!
