To Die For is a relatively new name in the goth metal world. They come from Finland with their dismal mayhem and dark overtones. Alot has been borrowed / reworked from the likes of Type O Negative and Lords of the New Church but sounding completely new and refreshing. The band borrows a few members from the band Sinergy (drummer Tonmi Lillman and vocalist Kimberly Goss). Song titles only slightly hint at what the final result is. Tracks like "Our Candle Melts Away" and "Rimed with frost" are deep and dark with Jape Peratalo's enchanting vocals. The songs are all gothic in nature mainly due to the chugging distorted guitars and the vocal harmonies that creep into you subconscience and haunt your dreams. There is a romantic quality to the album as well, although somewhat tragic but it still exists. Keep an eye out for this band as they are sure to attract quite a broad audience with their accessible dark melodies.
