Paw - Home is a Strange Place
Paw is a band that never got the recognition they desrved. With their style of southern fried grunge / metal they had something a little more left of center than everythig else coming out of Seattle. With Mark Hennessy's southern drawl and the scheer intensity of the backing band they were bound and determined to break into the grunge spotlight. With 2 outstanding albums under their belts and the infamous "no label support" from A&M they folded. Guitarist Grant Fitch and Mark decided to get together and make the best music yet and proceeded to recruit some additional band members to fill out the roster. The album isn't quite as intense as Death To Traitors but you can tell that their songwriting has matured over their time off. They manage a wide variety of sounds in the too short album (7 tracks). Paw starts off with a quiet track called "Ruby Red" and then kicks in with "The Red Room". Fans will be more than satisfied.
