I have never heard a Neurosis album before in my life. Please don't hold that against me. In my musical life I have just never come across them. I could not ignore all the raving reviews that I read of A Sun That Never Sets so I ventured into a realm that I may never return from, a dark brooding land that harvests nightmares and other evil things. Neurosis has been making albums now for over a decade now and there is no sign of them slowing down. I have heard their style of metal referred to as progressive metal. That makes them sound like Dream Theater. If you can imagine a band such as Shellac trying out death metal you might understand. Funny that I should mention Shellac here, as Steve Albini is the producer. It really works for the band too. The slow moving but dark and gloomy music handles Steve's production very nicely. A word of caution here, Neurosis will probably take you a couple listens in order to fully appreciate. I gave it three tries before I started to get it. They are in a class all their own.
